We don’t need your clever presets and your ‘so called’ Terms of Service to take pictures of our coffee/breakfast/pet/clouds/bee on flower.

We can do all that without you, without the filters, or any associated hassle.

Here’s how……
1. Use a camera
2. Learn how to use white balance and CT gels to your advantage
3. Make your own coffee
4. Shoot it
5. Upload it to your own blog/site
6. Sit back and enjoy the coffee

Incidentally, if Photography declines in 2013 I’m now a fully competent Barista. Just look at the frothy milk on that. And the handmade snowflake stencil.
That’s £2.90 please.

I realise it’s not like me to try and shoehorn in one of my images on the back of a popular event but I’m going to make an exception. *humble face*

Here’s a snap of Mt Ngauruhoe on the north island of New Zealand. Made popular as Mount Doom in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy it is about to reprise the role that made it famous as The Hobbit is released into cinemas this month.

Mount Ngauruhoe is one of three volcanos situated within the Tongariro National park on the north island of New Zealand. The other two being Mount Tongariro and Mount Ruapehu. Mount Tongariro has been in the news recently as it has erupted twice in the last 6 months. Both Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu were used by film director Peter Jackson in his Lord of the Rings trilogy. Something he has recreated again as the first movie in The Hobbit trilogy has its world premiere in Wellington New Zealand on November 28, 2012 (JONATHAN BOWCOTT/Photo: Jonathan Bowcott)

Apparently we Brits love to talk about the weather. Here goes..

I drove past this field at the weekend and there were cattle in it. Today, after a months rain in 36 hours, it’s been transformed into a lake with a fast moving torrent at the edge.

Yep, not something you see everyday.

Nowhere Island is part of the cultural olympiad coinciding with the London 2012 Olympic games. It arrived in Weymouth on July 25th ready for the Olympic sailing event. Bristol will be its final destination on the weekend of 7-9 Sep, 2012. More information can be found at nowhereisland.org (JONATHAN BOWCOTT/Photo: Jonathan Bowcott)

Apparently, Bristol is the last stop for Nowhere Island – an artwork created by Alex Hartley and part of the cultural Olympiad coinciding with the London 2012 Olympic Games. This weekend, Sep 7-9, 2012 sees a series of events in Bristol to mark it’s arrival (and departure).

Summer this year was particularly bad. Even I started talking about the weather. Either I’m getting old or boring (or both – I said it so you don’t have to) or it really was awful.

However, on the last day of the holidays the sun shined and my son took me to his newly built den. This image reminds me of childhood and I hope in the future it reminds him of good times too.
