Do you live in or around Bristol? I would love to take a portrait of you.

Here’s an example of the kind of thing I’m shooting (yep, it’s a self portrait to prove I’m not afraid of being in front of the camera!)

In the meantime I hope this info will catch your attention and you’ll be up for a really dynamic black and white portrait.

This is an opportunity for anyone to take part in a contemporary art photography project.

The fifty50 project sets out to produce fifty, large format, exhibition quality, black & white portraits all shot on the AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4G lens.

Concentrating on those who live, work or are from the Bristol area it will include people of all ages and gender.

Subjects will come from all socio-economic groups.

The images do not set out to make any political or social comment. They are just strong, dynamic images.

Inspiration is taken from the style of some the iconic photographers of the 1960′s. Including; David Bailey, Terence Donovan, Brian Duffy & Terry O’Neil to name but four.

The fifty50 project will photograph you either; in our studio, in your home or at your place of work. We will bring a white background, a camera & 2 small battery operated camera flashes on stands.
There will be minimum (if any) disruption and the whole process should be over within thirty minutes. 10 minutes set up, 10 minutes photography, 10 mins to take things down and leave.

If you’d like to take part in this project (we’d really love you to) you must be willing to have your photograph taken and the resulting image used in the exhibition. It may also be used in any/all associated publicity and marketing surrounding the final exhibition. You will be required to sign a standard release form showing your consent to these (and any other) terms that will be clearly laid out on the release form itself.

Subjects will receive a 10in x 10in print in lieu of payment.

The fifty50 project does not set out to be a profit making exercise. However, if any profits are generated then 50% of those profits will be split between 2 charities. The Royal National institute for the Blind (RNIB) and Guide dogs for the Blind.

The fifty50 project is looking for exhibition space to hang the images once the portraits are completed. Can you help find a venue?

I got a third of the way into December before I heard my first Christmas song (somewhat predictably it was The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl – you know the one) and ate my first mince pie.

If you love a mince pie may I boldy suggest that you won’t get better than this.

This one is Heston Blumenthal for Waitrose and is, without any doubt, the most delicious I’ve ever eaten.

Definitely worth the extra pennies even if it’s just to smell the pine fragranced icing sugar. Nothing else conjures up the scent of a forest and adds to the overall ambience like this Heston sugar.

In fact I was so enamoured with the first one that I *just had to* warm another one, photograph it and eat that one too. Just to make sure it was as good as the first one. I’m sure you understand!

OK, I admit the headline is worthy of the red tops at their best/worst.

Honestly though, Danielle was an Alien. She spent 2 days in full body prosthetic make up for The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Personally, I think she looks far better without the prosthetic make up and we shot some lovely beauty pics. We had make up artist Jessica Mills on hand and she did a great job too.
